Matcha Fruit Latte - 3 ways

Matcha Fruit Latte - 3 ways

Banana flavoured milk isn't just for kids. It is actually quite popular in Asian countries as well as other fruit flavoured milks. It is deliciously sweet in natural fruit sugars and adds a creamy texture to the drink.

You can easily make fruit flavoured milks at home without all the nasty preservatives and added sugars. It also adds a natural sweetness to the milk which pairs well with other flavours like Matcha. Using a high quality Matcha is important because the flavour is less bitter and less 'grassy'. High quality Matcha is earthier and has slight savoury tones. Ceremonial Matcha is also a nutritionally dense superfood high in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins.

This is a recipe for 3 different fruit milk flavoured Matcha lattes. We've included our favourite banana milk, papaya milk and blueberry milk.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup banana OR 1/2 cup papaya OR 1/4 cup blueberries
  • optional: 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 cup of plant based milk, we recommend soy milk for this.
  • 1 teaspoon Ceremonial Matcha
  • 100mL warm water, roughly 80 degrees.
  • Ice

How to:

  1. Firstly, make your fruit flavoured milk by blending your fruit of choice with your plant based milk. If using blueberries, we recommend adding honey as well because it can be a bit tart on its own.
  2. Blend everything in your blender until there are no large chunks visible.
  3. Sieve the milk to remove any unblended fruit and place this into the fridge while you prepare the matcha.
  4. To your matcha bowl, add in the Matcha powder and warm water. Whisk until an even froth develops and all the powder is dissolved. Add some ice cubes to cool down the Matcha.
  5. Pour your fruit milk into a tall glass, add in some ice cubes and top the rest of your glass with Matcha. Stir, sip and enjoy!
