Black sesame and Ceremonial Matcha are both amazing sources of micronutrients and antioxidants for your body & mind.
Black sesame is a commonly used in asian cuisine and it is a great source of Iron, Calcium and Zinc. It has a rich & nutty flavour that can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes. It pairs beautifully with fresh and fragrant Ceremonial Matcha to make this delicious latte.
We have made our own black sesame paste to use in this latte. It is very easy to make and any excess can be stored in the fridge for future use.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 teaspoon Ceremonial Matcha
- 150mL warm Water
- 1 tablespoon Black Sesame Paste *see below how to make*
- 150mL warm Milk
- 2 teaspoon Date syrup
How to:
- In a glass, place sesame paste, warm milk and syrup together and mix. You can use a handheld electric whisk if you have one.
- Optional: if you want it iced, add ice cubes to the glass.
- Whisk Matcha and warm water together until well dissolved.
- Pour Matcha on top of the black sesame milk.
- Mix, sip and enjoy!
** How to make black sesame paste**
- 100 grams black sesame paste
- 1 Tablespoon of sesame oil or olive oil
- Toast sesame seeds over a frypan on low heat for roughly 5 minutes.
- In a food processor or powerful blender, blend toasted sesame seeds and oil together until a thick paste forms. If it is too thick, add a splash of water a little bit at a time.
- Once combined, store it in an airtight jar or bowl that is covered. Store it for no more than a week in the fridge.
