This recipe is made of three components: vegan salted caramel, Hojicha frappe & vegan whipped cream.
Ingredients
Vegan Salted Caramel
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
Hojicha Frappe
- 1.5 tsp of Hojicha Powder
- 1 cup ice (we froze almond milk into ice cubes)
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 1 TBSP vegan salted caramel
Vegan Whipped Cream
- 1 can coconut cream, chilled in the fridge overnight
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
How To
- Combine the salted caramel ingredients on a saucepan and stir. Allow it to simmer for 8-10minutes and continue to stir.
- Once caramel has thickened, transfer it to a bowl so it can cool down. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before using.
- Grab your chilled coconut cream can and open. The coconut cream should have separated from any liquid. Scoop out the cream into a bowl.
- Add the vanilla extract to the cream and whisk with an electric beater until it is light and fluffy. This takes about 5 minutes.
- Combine all the frappe ingredients into a blender/shaker and blend. The mix will be icy and creamy.
- Fill your cup with the frappe, top it off with whipped vegan cream and drizzle with more caramel. This will keep you cool over the summer!
- Store the extra caramel and cream in the fridge.
