We love getting cosy when the weather starts to cool down. It might not be winter yet, but who says you can't indulge on this nourishing nutrient-rich drink ;)
The combination of warming spices with matcha is great for warming up the body & soul, and is also great for boosting your immune system. Matcha and the combination of the spice mixes have high anti-inflammatory properties, anti-microbial activity and helps to improve the mind!
Ingredients:
- 3/4 teaspoon powder spice mix *see below*
- 1 teaspoon ceremonial grade matcha
- 200mL warm rice milk
- 100mL warm water
- optional: honey or maple syrup
- optional: ice if serving cold
Powder Spice mix:
Combine 2 parts ground cinnamon, 2 parts ground nutmeg, 1 part ground all spice and 1 part ground ginger. Mix the powders together and store it in a jar.
The spice mix can be used for other drinks like chai latte or used in baking when making banana bread, cookies or cakes.
ow to:
- In a blender, blend the spice mix, honey and milk until you get a well mixed foamy milk.
- Whisk the ceremonial grade matcha with the warm water.
- Pour the spiced milk into a cup and then pour the matcha over.
- Optional: Sprinkle some powdered cinnamon / powdered matcha on top :)
